Lunsford Farm – More than a working farm

Three generations of Dunlops have farmed this spot on the Sussex coast for over a hundred years, currently with Romney ewes, and cross-bred cows.

Along with rearing and caring for the livestock, Andrew keeps free-range chickens!

We had a fun packed weekend on the farm with family and friends. Andrew’s farm tour provided an insight into local history and the challenges of farming.

Beautiful location, stunning views and close to beach/historic town.

We’ve been going to Lunsford Farm for over a decade, it’s a magical place. The option of having a Reflexology Treatment this time was a lovely added bonus.

Filming & Education

The farm has hosted various TV and Film shoots, including Celebs on the farm and Reeves and Mortimer.

Lunsford Farm also offers young people, families and community groups the opportunity to experience a working farm and explore the natural environment around it

Pett Coastal Camping

Pop up Campsite in August.

Nestled within the green rolling hills of Pett, Lunsford Farm opens its flowery meadows for the month of August once more.

This is an unique opportunity to enjoy the East Sussex coast overlooking the expansive seashore of Pett Level under the stars on ancient meadow farmland.

If you enjoy the proper simple camping experience, you will be in your element!

The place was secluded and very quiet, except the morning birds and the sheeps from next farm . True camping the way we love it.

A peaceful, near the sea with a drinking water tap and a toilet – what more do you need! Perfect for anyone through hiking the coastal path.

We stayed for 2 nights, easy to book our stay. Lovely and peaceful on both nights. Amazing views across the bay towards Dungeness.

Generations of farming history

The Dunlop family has been farming here at Lunsford Farm since 1888, when Andrew’s Great Grandfather took on the tenancy from Fairlight Hall Estate.

Andrew’s Grandfather Thomas carried on with the tenancy until 1917 when the estate was put up for auction.

He managed to buy the farm, and farmed it until Andrew’s Father took over in 1958 and then Andrew in 2000.
